LTS ACROSSTEAM

Simon Ommundsen
Team member

Simon can be found, practically, all season long along the riverbanks in Rogaland. Fishing for salmon is what is closest to Simon's heart. When he was 14-15 years old, he bought his first fly rod, and then the race was over.

Simon spends most of the dark winter evenings in front of the fishing pole and has developed several solid fish catchers. As soon as the ice has gone, he is quickly out and fine-tuning his casting technique. As a salmon fisherman, Simon has had the opportunity to try many different equipment, but has finally ended up back at LTS.

Favorite rods are Slingshot 14ft and Explosive 12.6 7-8

Peter Thomsen
Team member

Peter is a Danish immigrant who joined LTS from the Loop Team when it started in 2004 – so he knows LTS like the back of his hand.

How long he has been fly fishing is a secret… but he got his first fly rod when he was 14 years old. He is a passionate trout and salmon fisherman, and has fished around the world, including countless times on Kola, as well as Scotland, Argentina, Canada and Alaska. Another fishing that is close to his heart is Bonefish and Tarpon. He has visited Cuba and Los Roques several times. Peter is an instructor at Sandnes Flycasting, if you have any questions about casting techniques, he is the one to contact.

His favorite rod is the Across 13´ and the Explosive 10´ 7/8.

Tony Rubbas Jacobsen
Team member

Tony lives in Bardufoss and is a very skilled fisherman and fly caster.

When he was 10-11 years old, Tony started fishing for trout and char, this was his great passion until he was in his 20s. By "accident", he borrowed his little brother's rod and caught salmon on someone else's cast. Thus, like many others, he was sold.

Tony is a good instructor and guide and also devotes part of his free time to this, but also feeds his ego by fishing on the Målselva River. As a river walker, Tony has had the opportunity to try out a lot of different equipment and has now finally ended up on the right shelf at LTS.

Martin has been fly fishing for salmon since he was 6 years old, but already caught his first salmon at the age of 5. He has just completed 3 years at the sport fishing country school in Grong where he has been certified as an advanced fly casting instructor and guide.

Martin's salmon fishing mainly takes place in the Porsanger rivers Lakselva and Børselva but he also travels around the country and tries other rivers. Martin's favorite rod is definitely the Nitro 13.6 which he himself believes is the dream rod for someone who is both a casting and fishing enthusiast!

Robin Pettersen
Team member

Robin Pettersen is a knowledgeable fly fisherman based in Narvik, Nordland.

His interest in fishing was awakened at his family's mountain cabin when he was a little boy, and there he fished for trout with both worms, flies and lures. Even as a child he found out that it is important to choose equipment according to the conditions to catch fish. Robin fishes for trout and char with light equipment, but it is fishing for salmon and sea trout in flowing water that is closest to his heart.

During his 30 years as a fly fisherman, Robin has acquired a lot of knowledge, and he always chooses equipment and casting techniques according to the surroundings. Robin is a skilled caster with both one-handed and two-handed fly rods, and he is happy to share his knowledge with anyone who is interested.

During the summer, Robin fishes in many of the best rivers in Northern Norway, and he happily holds courses and demos of LTS's range.

As long as there is a chance, Kristian fishes year-round, preferably for salmon and sea trout.
For a number of years he has worked as a guide at the venerable Renå farm in the Stjørdalselva River and at Hembre farm.

Jan Morten Simonsen Out
Team member

Jan Morten lives in Karasjok, which is located in the heart of Finnmark.

He is a skilled fisherman and fly caster. His home address is by a deep pond behind the bend. At the age of 10 he started as a fly fisherman after being given a two-handed rod by an experienced fisherman. He enjoys fishing with light two-handed rods for big fish.

He fishes the entire long Tana River, but takes many trips to the Børselva, Lakselva and the other rivers in Eastern Finnmark. The summer is too short, so preparations for the season start in October, after a month off from fishing, where 400 new flies see the light of day in his own ''furtebu'' with hours of fishing videos.

Favorite rod is LTS Across II 13' #8/9/10

Ørjan and Kristian are both passionate salmon fishermen.

The former was born and raised in the river, and the latter was bitten by the bacillus at the age of 12. They spend the summer fishing in large parts of Southern Norway, mainly Western Norway. In June/July they prefer to fish in rivers they know well and have good experience from. But they also appreciate getting in the car in the pouring rain to fish for salmon that run up the river towards spawning throughout the summer.

They are both skilled fly casters who are happy to give demos or courses in and out of season.

Mauro lives in Bariloche, a mountain town in Northern Patagonia; Argentina.

He works as a fishing guide and Underhand casting instructor in the Nahuel Huapi National Park area. Bariloche is surrounded by high mountains, forest and a large system of lakes. As you drive to the east the main rivers run into the Patagonian desert, called Estepa. The town of Bariloche is the starting point of many prime fishing destinations. Limay and Traful are two of the best rivers in northern Patagonia where you can fish for rainbow, brown, silver brown trout and land locked salmon. Limay and Traful rivers are also ideal for wading with two handed rods chasing for the big ones on November (premier), December, March and April (fall).

He runs his own fishing operation for more than 10 years, www.patagoniadrift.com.ar . His programs combine fishing with casting clinics for all levels, and go from day trips to several days fishing trips or expeditions; camping on the river bank or staying at nearby estancia cabins surrounded by wild Patagonian landscapes.

Passionate fly tier, Mauro spends the winter tying for his clients, lending casting courses and guiding in Orkla river (Norway). He also works in the local guides association and in different conservation projects.

Hans Martin Iversen
Team member

Hans Martin lives in Sortland in Vesterålen. After taking a course with Trond and Knut, he switched 100% to fly fishing.

Hans Martin usually works in tourism, and surprisingly, winter tourism is his main area. This frees up a lot of time for fishing during the season. He starts the season as soon as the ice is rough to get a hold of the foreline, and keeps going until the Beiarelva River closes for the season on September 15. He drives a lot of kilometers between Målselva, Beiarelva, Saltdalselva, Ranaelva, Namsen and Orkla during the season.

Hans Martin is happy to provide equipment demos throughout his area of operation, and often posts on Facebook where his fishing is currently taking place, and is more than happy to demonstrate LTS equipment.

Hans Martin is particularly interested in recruiting people to fly fishing, and is happy to give demos for children and young people, as well as providing equipment at the salmon school in Rana.

Otherwise: Married, and fortunately with someone who likes to fish. She also graduated from Knut and Trond's throwing academy. I have a goal that Bjørnar will teach me to also be able to fish effectively (?) for spotted fish.

Favorite combo: Explosive 13.6 with Fortitudo
God's gift to Hans Martin : Bootfoot Waistwaders

Ole Borre Borresen
Team member

Ole Børre is – as he said a few years ago – 47 years young and comes from Sandefjord.

Ole Børre, or Børre as most people call him, is a very keen fisherman and goes salmon fishing in southern Norway in the summer. He also fishes in Trøndelag and in western Norway. In western Norway, night fishing for sea trout is what applies. Night fishing for large sea trout is one of the things he finds most exciting. He also fishes for sea trout in the sea outside of the salmon season, although this has become less common in recent years as he spends a lot of time honing his casting technique on two-handed rods. He trains with all types of rods, lines and lengths and believes it is important to be like a scout – always prepared.

Børre is also a skilled fly tyer and spends a lot of time on this hobby. Not infrequently, his lucky friends have caught fish on his flies, which he finds fun.

He is not actively involved in courses, but he is often contacted by keen fishermen regarding equipment, lines, casting, etc., and he steps in and helps as best he can.

So a little encouragement from Ole Børre in the end: don't put your rod away when the season is over. Take a walk out and practice fly casting. The more often you do this, the better you will become. You will also have more fun experiences on the river no matter what fishing situation you are in. And not least, you will catch more fish!

Anders has fished his entire life, but only got into fly fishing when he met Knut and Trond on a course at Orkla in 1998.

He has been associated with LTS since its early beginnings in 2004 as an owner of sports shops and user of the equipment.

Salmon fishing has always been Anders' number one fishing hobby, but he is no stranger to trying sea trout either. He has traveled all over Norway and fished many rivers, but it is probably the Trøndelag rivers where he feels most at home.

Currently living in Grong, a fly's throw from Namsen. Working at the Sportsfiskelandslinja at Grong High School and thus making Sportsfishing a living.

There's nothing like seeing a new student take up the fly rod and suddenly have an epiphany... says Anders Driver, who guides and holds casting courses in Namsen, and then it's 2-handed fishing that counts.

Raimon Leechkeel

Raimon has been fly fishing since he was 11 years old.

It was his grandfather who was the driving force and natural mentor. From the time Raimon was young and promising, he would go fishing with his grandfather, who is from Sogn og Fjordane, in the rivers Jølstra, Gaula, Nausta and Flekkeelva. At the age of 12, Raimon caught his first salmon on an undersized rod and unfortunately lost the match after 45 minutes. He has never forgotten that match.

Today he regularly spends 5 days of salmon fishing in Jølstra every year, and has not missed a single year, with the exception of the years in the 90s when the river was closed. During that period, he fished in Nausta and Flekkeelva.

During his teenage years he developed a great passion for fly fishing, mainly for salmon, sea trout and inland trout. He also fishes for other species when he feels like it. For example, for pike in Borrevannet, a 5-minute walk from his house in Horten. Always with a fly rod.

Raimon is an “all-rounder” and can do most things, but most of his free time is spent fishing for inland trout at Skrimfjellet and Gautefall in Telemark.

Andreas – 24 years old from Eastern Finnmark. Comes from a keen outdoor family, and the entire extended family has salmon fishing on the agenda from June to the end of August.

From the age of 4-5, Andreas has been on trips with his father and grandfather, who are said to have much of the credit for salmon fishing becoming a big thing for Andreas.

He says, "My first salmon was caught in the Kongsfjord River with my dad when I was 6 years old, and in retrospect there have been many more, and now lately millions of delicious casts with formidable equipment! (LTS ❤️)

I spend the summer months in beautiful Varanger, and more specifically Vardø/Komagvær. Here I am lucky enough to have a cabin 1 kilometer from the Komagelva River, which is an incredible gem in the middle of Varanger.

If anyone wants to experience a wild Finnmark river, and not least an incredibly beautiful nature, there is no point in hesitating! Just take the trip, I can help as an expert having grown up in the valley. In addition, I have good knowledge of several of the beautiful rivers in Eastern Finnmark, mainly Sandfjordelva, Kongsfjordelva, Bergebyelva and Vestre Jakobselv.

During the summer I am stationed in Vardø/Komagvær and can be reached by phone 98004524/or email andreaseriksn@hotmail.com 24/7.

Per Morten practically lives in his own playpen in Stjørdal.

Per Morten has been with LTS since the very beginning. A few years ago, a lot of his time was spent on two-handed spey training and competitions. The focus has shifted somewhat over time, and although it is still fun to 'move the shooting line' (quote Knut), recreation and experience are now the driving force. Casting technique and practical fishing are now closest to his heart.

Per Morten expresses himself as follows: 'Time stands still on a large summer river with an Across 15 and full length of Across float. I never tire of the feeling of a well-executed cast and the sight of the line shooting away like an arrow with a bewildered sunray in tow. Then all you have to do is wait…..'
