Description
Dermizax® is a waterproof, windproof, and breathable membrane specifically developed to protect against all kinds of weather and provide the highest possible level of comfort. Garments with a Dermizax® membrane withstand a water column of at least 20,000 mm and have extremely good moisture-wicking properties.
The outer fabric has been given a water-repellent treatment so that water beads off instead of settling in the outer material. However, after prolonged use and several cycles in the washing machine, the water-repellent properties may weaken. If the outer fabric absorbs water and becomes wet, the jacket may feel cold and condensation may form more easily. In that case, it is advisable to reproof the outer fabric with a treatment intended for breathable synthetic materials, so that water beads off the garment's surface more quickly and its good breathability is maintained. We recommend using waterproofing spray on membrane garments rather than a wash-in treatment. Wash-in waterproofing seals the fabric from both sides, and the membrane may lose some of its functionality.
