Description
LTS SCS is designed so that a salmon-fishing shooting head both fishes effectively and, not least, feels comfortable and casts long.
This is made possible by keeping the diameter of the head itself low while retaining the line's own weight. This is especially important for floating and intermediate lines, in order to minimize air resistance.
The coating on the lines is soft, combined with an inner core that has corresponding stretch. This makes the lines very stable and completely free of vibration and wobble, even when the cast is made with considerable speed and power.
The different tapered tips have approximately the same weight, regardless of sink rate, and the delicate taper enables a silky-smooth presentation, even when using a short and not necessarily tapered leader (0.5-1.5m of ordinary nylon is sufficient).
While the tips help enable many different line combinations (float/S8, int/S2,S6, for example), the tapered tips also help make SCS very long-casting. The head continually transfers energy forward toward the tapered tips, which simultaneously slow the turnover, giving the caster the feeling that the head never lands but simply disappears, while the fly lands with the leader straightened, even on very long casts.
Based on these characteristics, I have chosen to call the line Syrstad Complete Salmon.
NB! Supplied without tips; purchased separately.
Tips are available in Float, Int, S2, S4, S6 and S8.
